March 18, 2026 Wednesday Had had to get up early and find our way to near the Barcelona Stadium and University where our three cities tour would begin. They wanted us there at 8:10 but we were there at 7:30. We pulled out at around 8:30 right on schedule. This trip is a three part tour that includes Montaserrat, Girona and Costa Brava. It takes about eleven hours to do the tour so it is a pretty lengthy tour designed to give a good sampling of each of the three towns. The

March 17, 2026 Tuesday This morning we had breakfast at the hotel and then around 10:00 we started our walk to the meeting point for our Sagrada Família tour at 11:00. It was only about an 8 minute walk. The Sagrada Família Bascilica rises up out of the city like a giant otherworldly spaceship. Its sheer size makes every view seem as amazing as the next. March 16, 2026 Monday We arrived in Frankfort too late for our connection so Lufthansa had automatically rebooked us for a flight at 11:00 which gave us an hour to get to our connection flight to Barcelona. March 15, 2026 Sunday TRAVEL DAY TO BARCELONA We were up pretty early and made our departure from home base at about 8:45. We might have left a little earlier but we had already gotten a notification that the flight was delayed 30 minutes. We had a smooth trip to the airport which took only 3 hrs 15 min. March 14, 2026 Saturday This morning was spent playing and visiting with our grandson and with his parents to a lesser extent. We will not be back here for 23 days at which time he will be 5 years old and the big brother of twin sisters. It’s a bitter sweet day to have to say goodbye and then get on to one of our biggest Wayfaring trips of our lifetime. We ordered pizza for lunch and then hung around afterward until about 2:00. March 23, 2026 Friday This morning we made preparations to visit our older son and his family. We left the house around 10:45 and were near our grandson’s preschool at around 1:15. We had burgers, fries and onion rings at a little burger place near the preschool and then drove by a store to grab our grandson some snacks. Since we didn’t go by his house we had no snacks for after school. Soon after 2:00 we were at his classroom door and getting him and his things out of his

March 12, 2026 Thursday This morning Amy went to sewing and sewed into the afternoon. David went to his MRI and got that done. Maybe we will know something from the MRI soon and maybe do something about the problem sometime after we get back from our trip. David picked up some lunch for him and his mom and they ate together at her house. David’s mom was not really feeling great today so she did not go visit with her husband today. March 11, 2026 Wednesday This morning was all about packing. We had most everything washed and ready to pack. We packed our zip up bags that compress our clothes into these really dense bags. After getting most of the packing done Amy put things in two pieces of luggage with one primarily for the cruise portion of the trip. We will only have the two checked bags and they are not big bags. These bags are the type that meet most of the European guidelines for checked bags.

March 10, 2026 Tuesday Today David spent time with his mom and some time packing in the morning and then had plans to go pick up our younger son and go to a big playoff game between two top teams in the state. Amy spent most of the morning packing and then the afternoon with David’s mom and middle brother until fairly late. She is doing a lot of prep for leaving town for an extended time. Hopefully we will get everything in order before we leave the US. David drove to our

March 9, 2026 Monday Today David was up early for rehab. This is most likely his last time. He has completed the 6 weeks of physical therapy required for reconsideration of him having a MRI. He did his mile and a half walk and then made a couple of stops before going home. Amy did a few things around the house and then had a chiropractor appointment. March 8, 2026 Sunday 🌞 This morning everyone in Amy’s family were in attendance at the church service. That of course is something that has not happened here in a very long time. After church we all had one final meal together before people started going their separate ways. We actually napped during the afternoon and watched tv. March 7, 2026 Saturday Today was dominated by the memorial service for our niece who passed on this past Christmas Day. This was a final goodbye for all of us and a chance for many of the friends and family to go live here to have some closure, mourn and pay respects. After the service the women in the church here provided a nice meal for family and close friends which was very nice. What happened the rest of the day seemed mostly unimportant. March 6, 2026 Friday David had to get up early and go to his teaching assignment at the high school. Amy was to spend the day with her sister. David got through the day without too much trouble. Things were a bit laid back at the high school since spring break starts after today. March 5, 2026 Thursday We both had subbing gigs today. Amy was at the high school while David was at the intermediate. Amy had a pretty easy history assignment while David had a really boring mock test day assignment. After work David went to rehab and then home. Amy went to her dads to visit with her sister. Amy’s brother wanted to go to a casino so they made the hour drive across the state line to Ballys. They contributed to the casino and got back home around 11:30.

March 4, 2026 Wednesday After some eggs and sausage Amy headed off with her dad to pick up her sister after she receives a shot in the leg for a problem she is having. They will pick her up and then drive the nearly three hours back to home base. David went to a park to walk the trails for an hour. He hasn’t done his hour walk since sometime in maybe October. March 3, 2026 Tuesday After breakfast David had rehab and then his walking while Amy went to a ladies bible class. At noon Amy had a subbing gig at the Junior High. David spent the afternoon doing some reading and a few chores around the house. Once Amy returned from her job we went to CVS and then Walmart so that we could spend money. March 2, 2026 Monday Errands and organizing for the morning and then got things moving a little more after lunch. Amy had a doctors appointment and a chiropractor appointment. David left around 1:30 to go help our younger son with a track meet. They ran off the triple jump for the 7th and 8th grade girls. February 27, 2026 Friday This morning David was subbing PE for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. He got through around 3:15 and then went and got his mother from her visit with his dad.
