October 5, 2025 Sunday
This morning we all got up, had some breakfast and continued our dog care training. This morning we learned how to get the dogs up, collared and fed. We also walked the dogs so we could understand the procedures for the technology and for walking the dogs with their leashes. Our hosts needed to finish getting ready so they could head to the airport. While they were busy with their travel we went to get some lunch and went to the grocery store to stock up some things we wanted for our stay. When we arrived at the house our hosts were gone and we were on our own. There are a lot of things to remember but the guide left by the hosts explains most of the procedures with the exception of some of the details involving the dogs. That is to be expected since we really needed to physically go through each of the processes for making it through each day with our two new furry friends.
There was play time with the dogs and then we cleaned them up for spending the rest of the evening in the house. We sat around and had a little dinner. Later we let the dogs out for the final time before they retire to the dog room where their kennels are located.
We went to bed by 11:00 or so feeling positive about how this sitting would go.

A word on staying at “not your house”. It is worth reminding you that we have been living in “not our house” since July the first. We have opened every kitchen cabinet and drawer in multiple houses so doing so again is no big deal to us. The point is that we have been doing this in some capacity for a while now so it is not overly strange or overwhelming to be in yet another “not our house”. If you are not accustomed to this lifestyle, we could see how it might be more challenging to make a leap like this and just live in “not your house”. If the idea of living in a stranger’s house is beyond your ability to comprehend then doing what we are doing may not be for you. After we do this sit and then our next one in the UK we may decide there are limits to what even we can handle.
