The benefit golf tournament begins at 2:00 today so we still have some time to prepare. Our nephew made pizzas from scratch and cooked them in the pizza oven on the rear patio. We had an early lunch so that everyone could get to the golf course to get things set up. Amy’s dad and his wife were the first to go. The rest of us followed about an hour later. Once we were there we set up the silent auction on the outdoor terrace while Amy’s dad was inside the clubhouse taking entry fees and taking money for mulligans. Around 2:15 everyone drove to their assigned hole for the start. The total number of golfers was about 72. This was a four player scramble so just about anyone of any skill level can play. Of course if you want to win you have to have a good team. Our nephew and his wife are very good golfers and their team won the tournament. That’s appropriate since the tournament is named for his late father.
Amy worked at the tournament the rest of the day while David and our grandson went to visit David’s parents. Our grandson was great with David’s parents and they enjoyed the visit immensely. They made a stop at Dairy Queen for some soft serve and a little playing on the playground. Then it was back to the log cabin of noise and craziness. Four boys running amuck can get a little tiresome.
Everyone eventually made it back to the house from the tournament. Once everyone was there we decided to pile into two cars and have dinner at Tele’s Mexican Restaurant. By the time we were back at the house everyone was tired and ready for bed. Well, everyone but the four boys.
