This morning we packed things in the car and we and our grandson started our two and a half hour drive to the bnb. When we were close to be there the rest of the family was going to eat in our home base town and then go to a fall/halloween park at a local home and garden store. We stopped and had lunch and then met up with the rest of the fam at the garden store.

We had our grandson and Amy’s sister had her four grand children and their mother. We had a good time walking around and looking at the fall scenes, taking pictures and watching the kids go through the hay bail maze. Once we had our full of the fall scenes we decided to take our grandson to have a short visit with David’s mother since the place where she is doing rehab is nearby.

Our next stop was our bnb which was only about ten miles from town and only maybe three or four miles from the golf course. We had a group of 13 of us staying at this 6 bed, 4 bath log house on 30 acres.

There were plenty of things to keep the kids occupied: playground, pool table, video games, ping pong and lots of room to run and play. We had to watch the little ones closely especially with a large pond on the property.

This evening Amy and her dad prepared everything for the tournament. She was primarily working on the silent auction and some of the prizes for the winners and for possible hole in one’s that had prizes like a trip to Hawaii.

Everyone tried to get to bed at a decent time. David stayed up until about midnight working on the computer. And, our nephew or his wife were up with the baby off and on all night.

PS: Oh yeah! We made our air reservations today. After much consternation we made a decision. We went back and forth and compared the numbers and decided to fly to Dublin. This is a non stop flight to Dublin and then a one stop in Dulles on the return. The cost comparisons are difficult but at this point we felt okay with our choice. The airfare includes checked bags and though we haven’t figured out how all the seat choices work it’s a better fare than most of the others. The cost for two round trips was $1405.

Now this still doesn’t get us to the Manchester area but it will allow for some exploration of the Republic of Ireland which we find intriguing. So now we need a plan for getting to the UK and back to Dublin. We can work on that the next few days. Now we can work on the other details as well.
