September 6, 2025 Saturday
It had been our plant to go to Amy´s sister´s house on Thursday but with David´s bother out of town and Amy being able to have her physical Thursday we had already decided to travel to her house on Saturday. We wanted to get out of town as early as possible Saturday which as it turns out was closer to noon. The drive is usually a little over 4 hours of driving so we plan on four and a half to five hours total. The drive went well without too many slow downs as we worked around the 9th and 10th largest cities in the U.S.. Once we leave the city the traffic becomes less and less a problem to the point it becomes like driving through the desert. We arrived at Amy´s sister´s and joined her dad and step mom who had driven here on Thursday. They plan to stay until next Tuesday or Wednesday but we will stay until her sister returns from her Mediterranean cruise. Amy´s sister had flown to Rome on Thursday and will be back on Thursday of next week.
The time we spend here will be spent taking our niece to a few doctor´s appointments, making sure the dog is taken care of, managing the house, working on the golf tournament, and visiting with our nephew and his wife and four children. Some highlights will be seeing the new great niece who is only a few weeks old and on Thursday watching our nephew´s oldest son play in his first 7th grade football game.

Today we mostly did our unpacking and then made a run to the grocery store to buy some things we wanted to have in the house while we are here.
This evening our niece made a lasagne dish that was quite good. We mostly watched tv or worked/played on our phones. David is almost always the last one to go to bed and this evening was no different as he sat at the dining room table writing blog posts.
