NEW YEARS DAY 2026

JANUARY 1, 2026 Thursday

Since we had yet to get enough sleep after our flight from the US we slept in some. Our hosts were up earlier getting ready for their flight this New Years Day.

Around noon they were on their way to the airport. We spent most of the day just hanging out with the pets and watching TV. In the evening we had Burger King just as a matter of convenience and then stayed up very late watching TV. Overall sort of a travel day for getting accustomed to the house and the the two pets.

Around sundown David did go to the local grocery store to buy a few things. The store is a short walk from the house so we shouldn’t need to drive anywhere for groceries. He spent about £70 for some basics which made for a decently heavy bad to carry home on a sore knee. Tomorrow we plan to drive to another home in the National Trust and have dinner at one of the neighborhood restaurants.
