Wayfaring Day 174

Today we official begin our family Christmasing.

We drove to our son’s house and picked up our grandson on our way to Amy’s sister’s house. Our grandsons parents will join us in a few days. His mom has to work and his dad is on a road trip with the team.

Our grandson was excited to get to go play with his cousins so that’s what most of the afternoon and evening was spent doing. His cousin’s house is fun with all the outdoor areas to play, toys and the stairs. The special treat tonight was seeing the wild turkey that one of their friends shot today.

We headed back to Amy’s sister’s house at about 9:00 so that everyone could get ready for bed. Today was mostly a travel day and although it was over six hours we took our time. Driving through the metro area was not a lot of fun but the express lanes probably saved us an hour. Once we clear the city and get off the interstate the drive is very uncrowded and at times quite scenic. David was in a lot of pain in the morning but then drove the second half of the trip today. The rest of the day has been mostly pain free.
