Wayfaring Day 162

December 8, 2025 Monday

This morning we left our respective house and headed toward each other with the goal of meeting at our older sons house. We all got together and picked up our grandson from pre school. We have had tickets to ride the North Pole Express train since October.

We arrived at the parking garage at around 3:10. WE had a little time before our 4:00 train so we had some hot donuts and a slice of pound cake before getting in line. The entire experience was very entertaining and we all had a fun time. Our grandson saw his second Santa of the year on the train and then afterward a third Santa for pictures. It was nice for both of us to get away and enjoy some time with family doing something fun. We all had a great time walking the streets and watching the drone show, especially our grandson. After the drone show, like most people, we headed back to our grandson’s house.

We left there for our hotel which we booked on the drive back. Our stay is at the place we have reserved for 24 days in April. We thought it would be good to give it a trial run before totally committing to almost a month. The room was really designed for extended stay. There is a full refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and a burner top with two electric burners. There is also a lot of space for storage both in cabinets and in under bed space. We plan to request the back of the building to get away from some of the freeway noise.
