December 6, 2025 Saturday

The phone rang at about 6:00 am and David answered the call especially because it was from the hospital. They wanted consent to give his mom blood due to low hemoglobin levels. He gave the consent and slept a little more. David was up early and off to the hospital. He wanted to be there when the cardiologist came by. His mother was doing poorly today and did not eat any breakfast or lunch. The nurse convinced her to drink a little of her ensure shake and David was able to get her to drink some water and soft drink. They had given her some pain meds overnight and maybe that was the issue. David did get to talk to the cardiologist and get some questions answered. In general it was good news. The rest of the afternoon however was rocky at best.

Days like these make being retired almost a necessity. Or at least fortunate that we can help out when it is difficult for some of our family to always be available.

The rollercoaster ride we are on is not a pleasant one. We may not be clairvoyant but the future seems clear enough and without much hope.
