Wayfaring Day 152

Our return to home base.

Today we were up and moving fairly early. After breakfast there was play time but also packing to do. We also helped our daughter-in-law empty out some things from the future nursery. Our son was feeling better and drove himself to shoot around and seemed to be doing much better. We finally got everything together and said our goodbyes.

Our first stop was to get some gas and the gas stations were very busy this Black Friday. The second stop was at our younger sons house where we did a few chores for him which, of course, included taking care of some of the cat issues we created for him. He was at practice so it was just us two there waiting for him to get home from practice. We decided to go ahead and go to the school and see him at the gym, which was good. We were able to see the completed updates to their locker room and admire how well it looked. After a while we drove on to home base.

At home base we actually stopped at David’s mother’s house and ate a little of their Thanksgiving leftovers. No one was there since she is doing some more rehab at the nursing center where David’s dad is staying. We stopped by David’s brother’s for a moment before continuing on to visit with David’s mom and dad. We were there from about 5:30 to 6:30 just talking and catching up. They were doing very well under the circumstances and we had a good visit.

Upon returning to home base we started washing clothes. David went to the grocery store to restock a few items. Then we watched some tv and relaxed while doing more laundry. It has been a crazy month in more ways than one. Hopefully we will get a good nights sleep in our own bed.
