This morning we were up early and had some breakfast at the buffet. From there we headed to the shuttles which were not busy at all this morning. We packed a backpack for the day with sunscreen, towels and extra clothes.

Once ashore we found our boat and the tour operator. (The tour operator had answered our text and gave us the boat and captains name). The captain was very friendly and helpful with everything. We loaded up the little boat with four other tourists and headed toward Lands End. The captain pointed out all the interesting sights along the way in both English and Spanish. We made our way around the point and then turned around to head back to the marina. On the way back he asked if anyone would like to be dropped off at any of the beaches we passed along the way. We and a young Mexican couple said we would like to go to Lovers Beach. Our plan had been to take a water taxi to Lovers Beach after we returned to the pier. We considered this a bonus and a money saver. The captain expressed a little concern about a couple of 60 plus aged people getting off the boat at Lovers due to the surf. Getting off can be a bit tricky in the surf and he explained we have to get off quickly. It helps that the boat has a ladder that can be put down and that there are people at each beach to help you on and off the boats. One guy took our backpack while we hustled off the best we could and we did so without incident. The captain said to tip when you leave so that is what we did. We usually follow directions.

This beach was definitely worth the trouble and we are so glad we had some time there. The captain said he would be back to pick us up at 1:00 so we had a couple of hours to hang out and explore the beaches.

Lovers Beach is small but calm enough to get in the water and even swim or snorkel. This beach is on the Gulf of California side of the peninsula while the connected Divorce Beach is on the Pacific side. We walked over to the Pacific side and walked along the steep beach as the waves crashed along the shore. This is not a place to swim! The waves can come in very strong and often reach surprisingly high onto the beach.

We hung out along the rocks and after a while David decided to to walk to the other end of the beach while Amy relaxed in the shade of the rocky cliffs. David walked along the beach to where the cliffs put an end to the beach. On the return he ventured up toward the cliffs and explored the desert biome. This was a very interesting little hike and exploration much like any desert hike. He had to be careful of barbs and other sharp plants since he had on sandals and a swim suit. While on his walk he saw three different types of lizards, chipmunks, thousands of butterflies, flowering plants, prickly desert plants and saguaro cactus. The large lizards were about 18 inches in length while the smaller ones were about 8 inches or so long. He saw several of the large ones along the way and got several good pics and videos.

We returned to Lovers beach and sat in the surf until about 12:45 and then got things together in order to be ready for our boat ride back to the pier. The boat arrived right on time and we were able to board without too much difficulty and tipped our helper.
On the way back we picked up six other folks who had gotten off at the other two beaches. Overall we had a good time and enjoyed seeing all the sea lions, pelicans, fish and interesting rock formations and caves.

Once we were back on the pier we decided to forego eating in town and opted to stop by a souvenir place and grab a couple of things before heading back to the ship. We bought a drink and a T-shirt before catching our shuttle and saying goodbye to Cabo.

We showered and took a nap after a tiring time at the beach. We got ready in time to do some casino time and some reading time before going to dinner time. After dinner we went to the comedy show in the big theater with the two new comedians. After that it was time for a little music in the atrium, some late night pizza and then bed.
