Wayfaring Day 122

October 30, 2025 Thursday

Another morning for bus driving and substitute teaching. David was done by 8:15 and went straight to his mother’s house to make sure she was up and having a little breakfast. There are no doctor’s appointments or other plans for during the day. This evening we are planning to have dinner with some friends. We will most likely not be back at home base before the end of November. Amy subbed at the Junior High. David started sorting out some things for packing before going back to drive the afternoon routes.

We met our friends at a Mexican restaurant around 6:15 and had some enchiladas and chilli relleno. On the way home we made a pre trip stop at Walmart for a few last minute items. The rest of the evening was spent sorting clothes and packing.

We did consider cancelling our Vrbo and losing $140 but we didn’t decide in time due to the deadline being based on Eastern Standard Time. So now our options are losing the whole amount or contacting the host directly to negotiate something. At the moment we are going to just push forward and hope for the best case scenario. We don’t usually make changes based on a “what if” but this situation may have been an exception.
