October 19, 2025 Sunday
Today was a day for getting some things done around my son's house. Their subdivision is having a garage sale weekend next weekend so we helped prepare for that. We moved furniture to the garage and reshuffled things in the garage in order to make space and sort out things for the sale. David and our son also installed ceiling fans in two of the bedrooms. We had sausages and hot dogs with chips, queso, guacamole and salsa for lunch. Our grandson had us playing soccer and baseball between chores. Some of the other neighborhood kids were playing in the cu-de-sac so our grandson played with them for awhile which kept him out of the house while we moved furniture and put in the ceiling fans.
Later on our son and his wife and son had a fall festival thing at our grandson’s pre school. After they left we headed back to home base. On the way we stopped and spent a couple of hours with our younger son. We had dinner at Subway and then jumped in the car and went on. We were at home base at about 9:30.

Our plan for this week is to take care of David’s mom as she is expected to get to go home this week from her rehab assignment. At the end of the week we plan to visit family on Friday and then go to a concert Saturday night. On Sunday we will swing by to see Amy’s sister and then Monday drive back to home base.
SEATTLE TRIP THS NUMBERS:

$312 Dining Out
$164 Fuel
$147 Miscellaneous (snacks, parking, ferry, etc)

Our goal is still $100 per day so in that respect we feel good about our house/dog sitting.
We probably spent too much on groceries and on dining out but we did not eat extravagantly.
We will do a breakdown for the entire month of October at the end of the month.
