Wayfaring Day 108

October 16, 2025 Thursday

Today is Amy’s birthday. It is also our day for flying home. We have an early evening flight which means an early morning arrival.

Our hosts arrived last night around 10:00. This morning with our hosts back home we still did some things with the dogs and then we later said our goodbyes. I doubt the dogs will miss us now that they have their mom and dad home. As Mary Poppins said, “That’s as it should be.”

We played ball with dogs and said our goodbyes at about 2:30. We’re arrived at the airport nearly two hours before departure. We were able to check both our bags which always nice on the return trip home. The traffic was light and there was no waiting to get our bags checked or with going through security. We have TSA precheck but it didn’t really matter here at Paine Field.

The flight to Las Vegas was fine. And, Amy gets to say we went to Vegas for her birthday! We had a one hour twenty minute connection time but with boarding beginning at 8:20 we only had about 20 minutes to wait after restrooms and buying a drink and a sandwich for the flight. No free snacks or drinks on Frontier. We are in group 1 due to David’s Frontier status. Amy is getting the Frontier card as well so that gets us another 50,000 points. Plus she gets an additional 500 miles and no minimum purchase to get the 50,000 miles. Now we will both be able to check bags and be in early boarding groups.

We boarded our plane for home and prepared to leave Las Vegas. We didn’t even play any slots at the gate.

We arrived at our final destination 40 minutes ahead of schedule. We retrieved our bags and walked to the area for ride share pick up. We chose Uber again and our ride was there in around 5 minutes. The ride to our sons took about 30 minutes with light traffic and allowable speeds of 75 mph most of the way. The Uber ride was about $60 including tip which was ok. We arrived at their house a little before 3:00 am and unpacked as little as possible before going to bed.
