This morning we are experiencing some heavier rain. Nothing like a 52 degree rain and nothing really good about it. David has had to endure being out in this kind of weather during football season and it was usually a miserable encounter. The difference is that where we live the rain would most likely be much harder. The dogs will have to wait for a break or a least a lightening in the rain before we can have play time.
For lunch we have plans with friends of our family who graduated from the same high school as we did. We drove through the country and through small towns for about 55 minutes to their home. We had stayed a couple of nights with them about a year ago when we were taking an Alaskan cruise. We remember it being colder the last time we were there.

We had a really tasty lunch and then spent a couple of hours updating family happenings. Before we left we found out that a local elk heard was grazing along the road we would travel back to the house. We didn’t have to drive but a few miles before seeing the elk. There was a parking area along the road so we stopped and joined the other people who had stopped to take pictures and just enjoy these noble creatures. We didn’t stay long and headed on toward the house.

When we arrived in Snoqualmie we parked near the train station to watch the excursion train makes its arrival from its latest run. We were able to look over their rolling stock, engines and other railroadiana.
The station and bookstore were open so we did a quick peak inside as well. The train pulled into the station and David got a nice video to send to our grandson. The passengers were detraining as we left the quaint little town and their train attraction.

It isn’t far to Snoqualmie Falls so we pulled into the parking lot and made the short stroll over to the overlook. This was Amy’s third time here and David’s fourth over about a 25 year time span. The falls are beautiful and we are sure they are much more impressive in the spring but we are always here sometime between July and October.

After that short stop we really needed to get back to the dogs and get some play time in. We ordered pizza to pick up on the way so that we didn’t have to cook.

There was light rain falling when we returned to the house. David put on a hat and rain jacket and began playing with the dogs right after having some pizza.
While they were playing the rain began to come down much harder but they kept playing. David did cut the session a little short since it was pretty dark and he was starting to get wet.
We let the dogs relax and eat some before moving them inside. They had to be dried off more than usual due to being in the rain some. We got them cleaned up, dried off and put their body towels on. They were being playful with each other tonight which was a little different and funny. We let them lay around while we watched TV and relaxed. Eventually it was time for final potty break and bedtime. Seemed like a pretty full day.
