July 7, 2025 Monday

We are back to our home base today. Plenty of errands to run since we have been out a few days. We moved our address to a PO Box with the exception of certain accounts that require a physical address. This means checking the PO Box when we are in town. By renting a medium sized PO Box we should be able to be out of town as much as a month at a time with little chance of the box being filled. In addition to the mail, we needed to take care of David´s parents, David had a haircut appointment and there was a little shopping to replenish a few items. There have to be some days for the mundane things.

*Did we mention how the world of basketball is the world our lives tend to revolve around; for better or for worse. So today, as we begin to think very seriously about the next month, we will reveal another one of our previously planned travel adventures. Keep reading to see even more reveals along the wayfaring trail.

Our son is the men´s basketball coach at a university here in the US. The university encourages each sports program to create a travel experience for their programs about every four years. Once this was announced we began saving so that we could tag along with the team. Amy was able to go on the previous trip a few years ago when they visited Italy. This time the trip was planned for the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany. The tour was set up by a tour company and would include a basketball game in Prague and another game in Munich. This trip would be the first time for David to visit Europe and only the second time for Amy. The tour would include the flight to Prague and three nights in Prague. Then it would be on to Salzburg for one night. The trip would conclude with three nights in Munich. As it turns out we have a friend who lives in the Black Forest area of Germany and, since he had invited us to visit, we set up a couple of nights to spend with them after Munich. So after a little discussion we decided that since it is only a short train ride to Paris that we should tack that on to the end of the trip as well. We decided that staying five nights in Paris was worth the splurge. This all meant doing our own airfare for the trip which turned out really well for us. We would accompany the rest of the tour group on the flight to Prague but then fly home from Paris on our own. The calendar is definitely become more dense with our wayfaring plans. The Europe trip will take from August 13 to August 28. Does this trip fit anywhere within our desired budget? Absolutely not! But I will still include the numbers and details when we reach that point.

At this point it seems we have both presented a somewhat uneventful week but at the same time a week that really is making the future take shape. Time to start looking for the next thing? We think so.
