Today we make the drive to our grandson´s house which is a about a two and a half hour drive depending on city traffic as we get close to his house and have about an hour of city driving. We have one car at our son´s house and one at Amy´s sister´s so when we get to our grandson´s house we will have both cars which, of course, we don´t need but one. That means we will driving two cars back to our home base at David´s brother´s house. (Not naming places makes the writing more difficult but we will continue to use this obtuse style in order to steer the reader away from any preconceived ideas or biases.)
Now that we have increased our commitment to our wayfaring idea by booking airfare, hotels and a repositioning cruise we begin to research and discuss other options that might be available to us over the next year. Now before we make any new plans there are already other plans in play that were made well before we became wanderers. Today we will describe some of the plans that involve travel and family matters and save some of our other previously scheduled events for later.
The first thing that is on the list of things we have already committed to is a trip that David is taking with our younger son. They will fly to Orlando for a trip that involves visiting baseball parks and includes a few days doing Disney World. This trip takes place from July 15 to July 23. Our son only needs five more teams to visit to have seen all the teams in their stadiums. This trip will take care of the Florida Marlins, Tampa Bay Rays and Atlanta Braves. There will be more on this when the time comes.
Another big thing on the horizon is house and dog sitting for Amy´s sister while she is on a cruise with friends. The dates for this sitting are September 3 to September 20. We should really be able to curb our spending during this time. We will be in a small town that has all the familiar places like Walmart, McDonalds and the like, but the closest town with a population over 100,000 is an hour drive away. Our nephew and his wife live here with their four children so this will give us a chance to spend some time with them. There is a little more to it than that but more details once we get to September.
We also have another sitting coming up at the end of September from the 23rd to October 1st. This will be sitting at our son´s house with our grandson and their dog while our son and his wife take a little vacation before basketball season arrives. Basketball is a big deal in our family as you will find out as the time approaches.
We spent a great day with our awesome grandson. Once he went off to bed David began to do more research into ways to fill in some of the gaps in our calendar. Gaps can be okay as long as there are not too many. It also depends what happens and where you are in the gaps. Honestly, most gaps will probably be filled with our grandson.
