Today David made the 2 hour drive back to home base to check on parents and do other errands in preparation for a couple of more weeks away. Amy continued with keeping our grandson. Today David was able to complete the paying for the LA/SLC/DEN trip since the credit card arrived. This trip alone will take care of most of the $2500 needed to activate the 50,000 miles on Frontier. These activations take time so you should always keep in mind that using the miles will not be an immediate thing. We usually try to hold on to the miles and use them when we can get the most travel for them. Depending on the day or the flight it is possible to stretch your flight miles by choosing combinations of flight miles with dollars that get you the most for both.
David and our younger son are making preparations for their trip to Florida and will drive to our older son´s house so that he can take them to the airport which is only about 20 minutes from his house. Our typical way to fly out is to be taken to the airport by our son or his wife if we are not all travelling together. Sometimes we use a rideshare like Lyft or Uber and sometimes we use the light rail which has a couple of stations near our older son´s residence. Parking at the airport has become more expensive and light rail takes as least twice as long as driving but we sometimes make use of those means when we have no other choice. Their flight doesn´t leave until evening so they will have some time to hang out with everyone during the day tomorrow.
