Although very tired from the past two weeks, the feeling today was one of relief if not elation. Over the past month we had managed to minimalize our lives through liquidation and an emotional exodus. With a loaded 1997 Chevy Silverado pick up full of the final load sitting in my brother´s driveway there was no time to take a full day to rest. So as weary as we were we continued with unpacking and storing our belongings. Fortunately my youngest brother and my mother had some storage space for us to store some of our ¨valuables¨. Even so, we had filled a 10 x 10 storage unit and needed more space. The decision was made to upgrade to a 10 x 20 storage unit so as to have space for more of the things we had stored at my brother´s house. This meant moving everything from the 10 x 10 to the 10 x 20 which was not a happy thought.
Prior to the final day we had moved two sets of bedroom furniture into a large vacant bedroom at my brother´s house so we had a place to sleep anytime we are living in town and taking care of parents. So in our case we are fortunate to have a relatiive who is willing to provide a place with space for us to call home when we are in town. We actually don´t share the space that often since he works shift work and we are only going to be at his house intermittently. It is also worth noting that we all share in taking care of the parents which allows all of us all a little freedom to travel or do other things.
So for the first night we had a place to sleep and prepare for the next day. Other than the pain and weariness of days of working all day there is little to report. It is not all fun and games so making a conscious effort to be positive is a requirement of the job.
